Alice G. Sholund, 90, of Merrill, died Monday, October 4, 2004, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 6, 1 p.m., at Stephen's United Church of Christ, Merrill. Rev. Earl Eckhart will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at the church. The Taylor and Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is serving the family. A full obituary will be published in next week's Foto News.

Alice G. Sholund, 90, of N2632 Pier St., Merrill, town of Merrill, died Monday, October 4, 2004, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
Alice was born July 16, 1914, in Merrill, daughter of the late Jacob and Lena Bettin Vachavake. She married Ellis Sholund in Merrill on January 31, 1942. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1997.
Alice was a homemaker. She was also employed at the former Hanson Glove Factory in Merrill and in the sewing department at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Merrill. Alice also dairy farmed with her husband. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, splitting firewood and spending time with her great-great-nieces and nephews Tyler, Tara, Heidi, Chelsey, John and Shana.
Alice is survived by nieces and nephews Gary and Pat Sholund and Ron and JoAnn Vachavake, all of Merrill; Jim and Sandy Dunn, Atlanta, Ga.; Jim and Nancy Swanson and Robert and Mary Zahn, all of Sussex, Va.; and Emery and Colleen Henrichs of California; great-nieces and great-nephews, including these caregivers, Gary and Angel Sholund, Al and LouAnn Sholund and Gina and Terry Mueller, all of Merrill; and also great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Helen Sholund and Elaine Henrichs; and brother Marvin Vachavake.
Funeral services were Wednesday, October 6, at St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Merrill. Rev. Earl Eckhart officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family with arrangements.
