---Beyer, Jessie Marie (2 May 1905 - 24 Oct. 2004)
Jessie Marie Beyer, 99, of Merrill, died Sunday, October 24, 2004, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Born May 2, 1905, in the town of Schley, Jessie was the seventh born child of Carabel Emily Warner and Charles Henry Fox. She married William John Beyer on December 17, 1924. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1958.
Jessie was born and raised in the town of Schley. She and Bill were farmers for many years. Except for about 1 year when she lived in Fond du Lac, her entire life was lived in the town of Schley. She was always very active in community affairs. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, the Women's Fellowship of the church and also a 4-H leader for many years. She had many hobbies, including knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking and canning, gardening and growing and sharing her beautiful flowers. She was a great pianist and often played at the Wildwood Chapel Church where she was a member for over 60 years. During World War II, she shared her baking talents with the many nephews and neighborhood boys that served our country. She was constantly baking, packing and shipping boxes to the boys overseas. She was on of the few women in the community who had a driver's license. People always knew they could count on her for a ride. Up until the last 10 years she lived a very busy and fruitful life, but in the last 10 years dementia began to take its toll. She leaves behind 70 loving and caring family members that have beautiful memories of a truly great person.
Survivors include daughters Nettie (Roger) Jirtle, Madison, Wilma (Arthur) Shankwitz, Schofield, and Barbara (Ross) Bauknecht, Three Lakes, sons William (Marion) Beyer, Gleason, and Ronald (Darlene) Beyer, Merrill.
