---Heckendorf, Helen M. (30 April 1933 - 22 Nov. 2004)

Helen M. Heckendorf, 71, of Merrill, died Monday, November 22, 2004, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Born in Munising, Mich., on April 30, 1033, Helen was the daughter of the late Raymond and Alverna Duroscher Launderville. She married Norman Heckendorf on June 30, 1951, in Merrill.

Helen worked at the Weinbrenner Shoe Company for 48 years. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ and the Red Cross Volunteers. Helen enjoyed following the Badgers and the Packers, walking every day, and spending time with her family. Helen will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Norman, Merrill; daughter Karen (Scott) Nelson and sons John (Sue Baumann) and Garth (Jody), all of Merrill; grandchildren Desirae, Danielle, Jeremy, Melissa, and Matthews; and great-grandchildren Spencer, Caden, and Cole. Also surviving are sisters Ruth Pahls, Eau Claire; Mary (Dom) Burlinger, Saulte St. Marie, Mich.; Loretta Baka, Milwaukee; and Joyce Launderville, Superior; and brother Joseph "Jack" Launderville, Seattle.

Funeral services were Friday, November 28, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Earl Eckhart officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
