Alfred William Chilsen, 68, of N2661 Alexander Lake Rd., Merrill, died at home under Comfort Care and Hospice Services on Thursday, December 2, 2004.

Alfred was born August 28, 1936, son of Alfred and Susan Chilsen of Gleason. He married Shirley Anderson on August 29, 1957. They recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.

Al was always a very hard worker, operating his own excavating business for many years. He also was a logger and a truck driver. He loved working with heave equipment, the outdoors and horses. You could always see Al working on his house and restoring vintage tractors. There was nothing he wouldn't tackle. Al enjoyed helping others and telling of God's Kingdom.

Survivors include his wife Shirley; sons Brian (Shelley), Milwaukee; Kevin, Oshkosh; Todd (Melanie), Milwaukee; and Brad, Merrill; daughter Debra, Merrill; grandchildren Chad, Jamin, Kayla, Holly and Naomi; and sister Betty Forster, Tomahawk. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Eunice Forster, formerly of Antigo.

A memorial service is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, December 11, at the Merrill Kingdom Hall, N3010 Cty. K, Merrill. Alan Tripp of Marshfield will officiate. Memorial can be made to the Kingdom Hall or the American Heart Association.
