Barbara A. Hass, 73, of Merrill, died Monday, December 13, 2004, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill, under Comfort Care and Hospice Services and Bell Tower Staff.
Born in Knox on November 12, 1931, Barbara was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Elvira Berhow. She married Clifford Hass on February 22, 1947, in Phillips. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2002.
Barbara had worked at Hanson Glove, Weinbrenner Shoe Co. and Merrill Manufacturing, all in Merrill. Barbara was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Corning and a member of the Altar Guild. Barbara enjoyed decorating cakes, reading, growing flowers and gardening, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters Cheryl (Douglas) Alderton and Nancy Hass, both of Merrill; sons Jerry (Wanda), Oregon, Wis.; Rick (Kerry), Merrill; and Todd (Sandra), Wausau; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a step great-granddaughter, and her sister Mary Lee Haag, Tucson, Ariz. She was preceded in death by grandchildren Christopher and Rebecca Runge; son-in-law Robert Runge; sisters Winifred Pagel, Mertice Roeder and Margaret Lizak; and brothers Vernon and Franklin Berhow.
Funeral services were Saturday, December 8, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, town of Corning. Rev. Joel Danner officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, was in charge of the arrangements.
