William H. Kleinschmidt

William H. Kleinschmidt, 85, of Merrill, died Thursday, December 16, 2004, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Born in the town of Scott on May 23, 1919, William was the son of the late Emil and Erna Krause Kleinschmidt. He married Vearl Hofmann on July 26, 1941 in the town of Scott. She survives.

Bill had farmed in the town of Scott and also worked as a carpenter. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Merrill. Bill enjoyed showing his gas engines shows that he attended. He also enjoyed playing cards. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Tomahawk area from 1939 to 1940.

Survivors include his wife Vearl; daughter Kristine (James) Loves, Merrill; grandchildren Corey (Paula) Koelsch, Kevin (Nikki) Koelsch and Nicole (Norman Kasten) Desmone, all of Merrill; and great-grandchildren Kyle, Megan, MaKayla and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his brother Louis.

Funeral services were Monday, December 20, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. James Weiland officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
