Thomas William 'Bill' Caylor

Thomas William "Bill" Caylor, age 69, of 207 Lake St., Merrill, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at his home under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Bill was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Ashland, son of the late C. L. "Bud" and Jean (Walsh) Caylor. He married Darlene Zoellner on Jan. 28, 1961, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. She survives.

Bill was part owner of Caylor's Corners in Merrill. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1954, and was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, as a Military Police for two years. After returning home, Bill served in the Wisconsin National Guard. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. Bill also was a member of Wisconsin Trappers Association, Merrill Historical Society, National Rifle Association and Lincoln County Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his cabin in Rock Falls.

Survivors besides his wife, include his daughter, Leah (Brian) Henkelman, Irma; two sons, Pat (fiancee Loretta Walsh) Caylor, Boston, and Tom (Barb) Caylor, Mountain View, Calif.; three sisters, Kathryn Sensenbrenner, Madison, Mary (Eldred) Kufahl and Margaret (Myron) Oestreich, all of Merrill; three brothers, Peter (Colleen) Caylor, Fairfax Station, Va., Michael (Kathleen) Caylor and Daniel (Carol) Caylor, all of Merrill; and five grandchildren, Mitchell Henkelman, Lexy Henkelman, Alli Henkelman, Christopher Caylor and Sarah Caylor.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. The Rev. James Horath will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 1638, Merrill. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and at the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
