Earl Stoddard
Earl Stoddard, 74, 2771 Highway L, Tomahawk, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at his residence.
Earl served as Chief of Police for the Lakewood, Ill., police department where he retired following 25 years of law enforcement. Earl then became a self-employed general contractor in Crystal Lake, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Fisher) Stoddard, Tomahawk; three sons, Steve (Regina) Stoddard, Crystal Lake, Paul (Shelly) Stoddard, Marengo, Ill., and Brian Stoddard, Phelps; four stepsons, George (Kerrie) Gubbins, Woodburn, Ore., William (Julie) Gubbins, Warrenville, Ill., Edward (Mell) Gubbins, Little Rock, Ark., and Andy Stoddard, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Mary (Leslie) Gubbins, Algonquin, Ill.; one brother, Charles (Anita) Stoddard, Crystal Lake; one sister, Irma (Tom) Ference, Lodi; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Burial will follow at the Prairie Rapids Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Krueger & Sons Funeral Home, Tomahawk, where there will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Visitation will be again from 9 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the church.
