Geraldine Piaszak

Geraldine Piaszak, 87, Wausau, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Weston.

She was born June 29, 1917, in Merrill, daughter of the late Herman and Stella (Norton) Freiberg. Geraldine married Michael Piaszak in Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1998.

Geraldine worked for the former Wausau Laundry and Cleaners, and the Home Bakery in Wausau for many years. She also was the manager at the former Cloverbelt Co-op grocery store in Wausau.

Survivors include one brother-in-law, Eugene Piaszak, Wausau; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her husband and parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Freiberg.

To honor Jerry's wishes, graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005, in Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will officiate.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.

Geraldine's family would like to thank Wally and Jean Gehrke for being her guardian angels all these years. And many thanks to all her loving neighbors and friends for all the love and support given to her. They also would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the staff and nurses at Kennedy Park and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for the kind and compassionate care extended to Geraldine and her family.
