Harold F. Erdmann

Harold F. Erdmann, 78, of Merrill, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill.

He was born Oct. 4, 1926, in Wausau, son of the late Frank and Emily (Bohm) Erdmann. Harold married Dorothy Trantow on July 24, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau. She survives.

Harold was employed as head of the Dairy Department for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. (A&P Store), retiring in 1989. He enjoyed his home and property on Lake Nokomis, fishing, traveling, playing cards and spending time with his family. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Erdmann of Merrill; one daughter, Karen (V. Tom) Olson of Merrill; two grandsons, Christopher T. (Josie) Olson of Merrill and Scott H. Olson of Milwaukee; one sister, Ruth (Vern) Wetzel of Wausau; and two brothers, Frank Erdmann and Charles (Joyce) Erdmann, all of Wausau.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. The Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Wausau. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill and again from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Harold will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Harold's family would like to thank Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, the staff at Pine Crest Nursing Home and the staff at Riverview Nursing Home in Tomahawk for the wonderful care given to Harold.
