Daniel O. Chandler, of the firm of Chandler & Co., proprietors City Bakery and Resturand, Merrill, was born at Pitcher’s Spring, Chenango Co., N. Y., December 23, 1848. He came to Boscobel, in 1858, living at home until the Rebellion broke out, at which time he enlisted as drummer in Co. K., 12th Wis. V. I., at the age of thirteen. He served out his enlistment, when he re-enlisted and served until the close of the war. He was mustered out at Louisville, Ky., July 16, 1865. He then went to his home in Boscobel and remained until November, 1865, when he went to Wausau, where he resided until 1876, when he settled in Merrill. He was married in Wausau, January, 1865, to Mary E. Stephens, who was born in Marathon County, August 25, 1858. They have one child, Garfield.
