Mitchell W. Sweeney, druggist, Merrill, was born in Grand Island, N. Y., June, 1850. He came, with his parents, to Milwaukee, in the spring of 1855, remaining there about one year; then went to Grand Rapids, Wis., where he spent his school-days, he also learning the drug business there. In 18789, he went to Wausau, first clerking in a drug store three years; then beginning business himself. This he followed three years; then sold out and went into the lumber business. After following that three years, he came to Merrill, where he is in the drug trade. He was married, at Grand Rapids, 1871, to Lill A. Burdick; she was born in Deposit, Broome Co., N. Y., Sept. 3, 1853. They have two children, Albert H. and Ethel B.
