Kurt C. Kleinschmidt, 82, of the town of Corning, died Saturday, October 27, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident in the town of Corning.
Born December 29, 1918 in the town of Corning, Kurt was the son of Herman G. and Anna (Krueger) Kleinschmidt. He married Dorathea Schmidt on January 10, 1942, in the town of Scott.
Kurt had farmed and logged in the town of Corning, worked at Fromm Brothers, was employed by the town of Corning and later served as supervisor for the town of Corning. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Dorathea; son Dale (Janet), Merrill; daughter-in-law Judith Kleinschmidt, Merrill; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters Esther Rassch and Adelia Kottke, both of Merrill; Viola Lehrbaummer, West Bend; Vernette Fabiszewski, Tomahawk; and Helen Kleinschmidt, Wausau. He was preceded in death by son Gene, brother Ben and sister IIa Schmidt.
Funeral services were Wednesday, October 31, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, town of Hamburg, Rev. John Nelson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, is in charge of arrangements.
