Donald A. Kaplanek Sr.

Donald A. Kaplanek Sr., 83, 15 Deer Park Road, Tomahawk, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Don was a gunner on a B24 bomber with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was co-owner of the Gambles Store in Tomahawk, worked for Skelgas, a former proprietor of the Snack Shack, owned the Bridge Restaurant in Tomahawk since 1960, and the Bridge Motel since 1979.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth (Paul) Kaplanek, Tomahawk; two sons, Ronald "Grease" Kaplanek and Donald "Andy" (Chris) Kaplanek, all of Tomahawk; and four grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from Krueger & Sons Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
