Joan N. Kratochvil

Born: April 26, 1937; in Merrill, Wis.

Died: Dec. 25, 2005; in Grayslake

She was a member of the Grayslake Chamber for more than 20 years.

GRAYSLAKE – Joan N. Kratochvil, 68, of Grayslake, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at her home.

She was born April 26, 1937, in Merrill, Wis., to Martin and Nona Lau.

She was a member of the Grayslake Chamber for more than 20 years, a member of the Joint Effort Class at Hastings Lake YMCA, and an employee of Wolohan Stock Lumber for more than 25 years.

Survivors include four children, Gene (Janet) Kratochvil, Pete (Deanna) Kratochvil, Jill (Greg) Sorenson and Suzie Richter; six grandchildren, Greg and MaryJo Kratochvil, Karsyn, Andrea and Briar Joan Kratochvil, and Megan Richter; a niece, Pam (Warren) Steffenhagen; a great-niece, Siera; and a great-nephew, Broc.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville.
