John A. Orin

CHEROKEE VILLAGE -- A memorial service for John A. Orin, 87, of Cherokee Village, who died Monday, Aug. 1, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 13 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village.

Brian Pummill will officiate, and Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland is in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Merrill, Wis., he served in the Navy during World War II and worked as a material control manager for Harnischfeger Industries in Milwaukee, retiring after 34 years. He moved to Cherokee Village in 1980.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Orin of the home; four daughters, Barbara McIlquham of Polar, Wis., Suzanne Wilson of Fairbanks, Ala., Marjorie Orin of Milwaukee and Elizabeth Geil of Easley, S.C.; a son, Robert John Orin of Milwaukee; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Peace Lutheran Debt Retirement Fund.
