James L. Rowekamp

MERRILL, Wis. - James L. Rowekamp, 54, of 204 Stuyvesant St., Merrill, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

James was born June 16, 1950, in Winona, son of Leo and Mary (Schell) Rowekamp, Lewiston, Minn. James was a shipping clerk at Thomas Industrial Supplies, Schofield, Wis. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, being outdoors and his family. He moved to the Merrill area around six years ago.

Survivors besides his parents include his fiancee, Lesley Goetsch of Merrill and her children, Samantha, Amelia and Tyler; two daughters, Shannon (Roger) Kampf of Romeoville, Ill., and their son, Gage and Kari (Mark) Moldrem of Cadott, Wis., and their daughter, Morgan; five sons, Todd (Shanna) Rowekamp, of Eagan, Minn., and their son, Kaden, Brian Rowekamp of Chippewa Falls, Wis. and his daughter, Maia, Chad (Michelle) Rowekamp, of Chippewa Falls and Troy and Tyler Rowekamp, of Sheldon, Wis; nine sisters, Helen (Michael) Thompson, Stillwater, Minn., Rose (Patrick) Loughrin, Appleton, Wis., Betty Jean (Jon) Hall, Parker, Colo., Dorothy Jane (Grant) Currier, Huntsville, Texas, Donna (John) Wegmann, Cannon Falls, Minn., Teresa Lynn (Don) Chirpich, Wells, Minn., Pauline (Marty) Webster, Acworth, Ga., Joan (Brian) Fritz, Cedar, Minn. and Katie (James) Ankrum, Apple Valley, Minn.; two brothers, John (Debra) Rowekamp, St. Charles, Minn., and Joe (Kelly) Rowekamp, Eyota, Minn., and several nieces and nephews.

One sister, Mary Lee Briese, precedes James in death.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill, Wis. The Rev. James Horath will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Merrill, Wis. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, Wis, and again on Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
