Surnames: Schwarze, Spittel, Draeger, Backhaus, Bashynski, Klatt, Penning ---Source: Daily Citizen (Beaver Dam, Wis.) 17 June 2007 ---Schwarze, Myrt (1 Feb. 1928 – 14 June 2007) Myrt Schwarze IRMA, Wis. - Myrt (Spittel) Schwarze, 79, N8003 Highway H, Irma, Wis., passed away June 14, 2007, at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff. Myrt was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Minnesota Junction, Wis., to William and Ida (Draeger) Backhaus. She married Roy Spittel on Dec. 13, 1947, he passed away in 1976. She later married Keith Schwarze on Sept. 1, 1989, in Stetsonville; he survives. Myrt was raised in Juneau, Wis., graduating from Juneau High School in 1945. She later resided in Horicon, Stratford, and Abbotsford before moving to Tomahawk in 1996. Myrt was formerly employed with Gardner Manufacturing in Horicon. She formerly owned and operated Time Out Bar in Stratford. She was a member of the Horicon Legion Auxiliary and a member of Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Survivors include husband, Keith Schwarze, Irma; one daughter, Audrey (Bernie) Bashynski, Beaver Dam; two sons, Bruce (Kathy) Spittel, Horicon, Ross Spittel, Waupaca; one step-son, Kurt (Lisa) Schwarze, Stratford; three step-daughters, Beth Klatt, Fond du Lac, Gwen (Robert), St. Pierre, and Dawn (Scott) Penning, both of Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Roy, and 1 great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18, from Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. The Revs. Mark Gass and James Babler will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of services at 11 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon with the Rev. Dan Seehafer officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff, Ministry Home Hospice, Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church, or the church of your choice. The Krueger and Sons Funeral Home, Tomahawk, is serving the family.
