Jan. 17, 2005 ---Kiefer, Ellen “Ellie” C. (29 May 1914 – 15 Jan. 2005) Ellen ‘Ellie’ C. (Behnke) Kiefer Ellen “Ellie” C. (Behnke) Kiefer, 90, of 101 Western Avenue, Fond du Lac, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. She was born a daughter of the late Otto and Elsie Bowman Kobs on May 29, 1914, in Merrill, Wis. Ellen married Andy Kiefer in May of 1980. She worked at Tolibia Cheese for many years until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, John (Kathy) Behnke of Eldorado and Douglas (Grace) Behnke of Rice Lake, Wis.; daughter, Joan DeClue of Fond du Lac; step-children; 10 grandchildren, Jeffery (Linda) Behnke, Craig (Vicky) Behnke, Rick Behnke and special friend, Joan Peterson, Steven (Belinda) Behnke, Kim (Randy) Dean, Michael (Helen) Behnke, Cheryl (Larry) Rasmussen, Terry (Jeff Binning) DeClue, James DeClue and Susan (Dave) Smet; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two nephews, Robert (Carol) Jackson Sr. and Gary (Addie) Jackson; a niece, Donna Kowalski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Kiefer; sister, Gladys (Robert Sr.) Jackson; an infant sister, Doris Kobs; son-in-law, David DeClue. Services: The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at Mach Funeral Chapel, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, with the Rev. Jon N. Cox officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in Estabrooks Cemetery. Visitation: The visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at Mach Funeral Chapel. Mach Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
