John Wignall shelled corn for the Reid brothers the last half of the week.
Geo. Withers has graded up nine miles of road in good shape this spring.
Tom Morris visited his home folks in Falls City Saturday, and returned Sunday.
The wild strawberries are more plentiful than they ever were, and are getting
ripe.
Pete Bowhay's man "Friday" was out repairing a wind mill for John Wignall
this week.
If nothing happens to wheat from now on, we will have a average crop. It
is looking nice at present.
Mrs. Oliver Freel of Liberty, and daughter, Sarah Nading of Kansas City,
visited Mrs. T. Trimmer, Sunday.
Lewis Waldters of Wymore, is visiting a few days with T. Trimmer. They soldiered
together during the Civil War.
Frank Smith received a letter from his father in Washington, Saturday. Stating
that his mother had died. His parents expected to come to Nebr., and had
sent their goods.
Mission Creek
Miss Emma Curry came up from Pawnee, Saturday, to visit her brother,
T. T. Curry.
Mr. and Mrs. James Eastwood of Barneston, spent Sabbath with Mr. Eastwood's
parents.
Everyone is rejoicing that the long continued dry spell has been broken
by refreshing showers.
Mrs. J. S. Colvin returned home Saturday, after a week's stay with Mrs.
J. D. Nesbitt, who is quite sick.
Mr. and Mrs. Green drove over from Mayberry, Saturday, to visit the latter's
sister, Mrs. F. W. Eastwood.
The ice cream social given by the young people's society Tuesday evening,
at Mr. John Eastwood's was well attended.
A good many from Mission Creek expect to attend the County Sabbath School
Convention at Pawnee City Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
R. H. Henderson, a former resident of this community, who has been visiting
in Iowa several weeks, stopped here and at Summerfield, Kas., to visit relatives
and friends a few days before returning home.

Max Owen of Morland, California, was visiting friends in Amour, Monday

Mrs. Pearl Beaver and daughter of Endicott, were visiting relatives and friends
here a few days last week.
Miner Kirschner of Clay Center, Nebr. came down Monday for a visit with his
parents; returning Tuesday.
Mrs. P. M. Fowler attended the graduating exercises in Pawnee last week,
She was accompanied home by her daughter Blanch.
Mrs. Lester Antrum returned home from a few week's visit with friends
and relatives in Lincoln. She was accompanied home by two of Mr. Antrum's
brothers.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barr and Mrs. J. D. Barr went to College Springs, Ia.,
Monday, for a visit with relatives.
Glenn Bowhay is able to go out again, after being laid up with
a broken ankle, which he received in a baseball game.
Elby Bowhay is following a black eye around this week, which he got in a
mix up with the ball in the Liberty-Armour game.
Ben Hopper renewed his faith in this publication this week, by putting
up a dollar in advance for another year's subscription.

The Liberty orchestra went to Barneston Monday night and furnished music
for the commencement exercises which were held there that evening.
James Eastwood, who has just completed a very successful term of school
at Barneston, has gone to Peru, where he will take a summer course at
the State Normal.

Little Cecil Evans, son of Grant Evans, fell through the hay loft in the
barn, Wednesday evening, and was seriously hurt, being unconscious for some
time. He is getting along nicely at the present.
Blue Springs vs. Liberty, Tuesday
Ira Lane and wife of Blue Springs, were visiting L. C. Lane and wife
over Sunday.
Mrs. J. A. Harvey and daughter Allie, went to Tobias, Nebr., Saturday, for
a visit with relatives and friends.
The commencement exercises held at Barneston Monday night were well attended,
including a number from here. The program was good, and included very
able addresses by Miss Day, Co. Supt.; and W. H. Clemmons, president
of the Fremont College. There were three graduates in the class,
Lillian Ekwell, Julia Day, and Edith Lutz. Prof. James Eastwood is to
be congratulated upon the excellent showing made by the class, and the Board
of Education of the Barneston school is to be congratulated upon securing
Prof. Eastwood's services for another year.

Mr. Miller returned home yesterday morning.

HArold Kirschner is working for R. T. Moore, in the drug store.
A fine large boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Myers last
week.
Ed Wilson of Virginia, was visiting friends in Liberty, over Sunday.
Dan Webber left for Peru Wednesday, where he will attend
the Normal this summer.
Misses Floy and Fairy Bowhay returned from a several months sojourn in
California, Sunday.
Mr. Krauss of Blue Springs, was a business visitor in Liberty Tuesday.
He came over in his automobile.
Street commissioner Evans has been doing some good work on the
main business street in Liberty this week, which when completed,
will make a very pretty street.
