My mother, Lena Wafler Day, was
a first cousin of Minnie Moser Pettit who lived in Humbolt, Richardson
Co., Nebraska. Minnie was born about 1903. She came to the
US with her parents Albrecht Moser and Margaret (Marguerite)Wafler
Moser.in 1904 from Switzerland. She married Harold Pettit.
Minnie's brothers were Alfred, Ernest born abt. 1905, Fred born abt.
1906, and Adolph born abt. 1908. In the 1950's, my family flew
from Junction City, Kansas, to Nebraska in my father's red Stinson
plane to visit Minnie and her family. Minnie was a sister to my
grandfather Alfred Wafler of Dwight, Kansas. I am interested in

We are looking for relatives of James O'Loughlin
who may be living in the county. James O'Loughlin was the son of
John O'Loughlin who settled in Ash Point KA in 1857. His son,
James, settled on Turkey Creek just south of Pawnee City. He was
one of the first settlers in that area. He was married on July 7,
1856 in Falls City. There are two O'Loughlins listed in Falls
City, Pamela A. O'Loughlin and Glen O'Loughlin. Their phone
number is not listed and they are the only O'Loughlins outside of the
Omaha area. Any help would be appreciated. We have a great deal of

Hoping to find the death information on Effie
Vest Epperson, who died from complications of childbirth in late
November 1898. She was married 9 August 1898 to Edward L.
Epperson, and is listed as living in Humboldt. Edward then
married Josephine Ellis in September 1900, both are listed from
Humboldt. Effie's daughter is supposed to have been born 22
November 1898, but we wonder if it was 1899, as her parents were
married in August 1898, according to court records we obtained last

I am (trying) to research the Futscher family. Adam Fuetscher, born Voralsberg, Austria, entered the U. S., ( I believe in N. Y. 1852). I find a census listing for him in Bellevue, St. Clair County, Illinois in 1870, then he resurfaced in Nebraska in the 1885 census. I have found him in every census to 1900. His son, Anthony, (born in Illinois) married Blen (Blanche) Close, born Boone, Nebraska. They had 3 children and Newton, (my husband's father) married Nellie Grace Speers, (still living) born in Falls City, 1915 also. My grandmother Serena Verne Harper was born in Richardson County NE in 1895. The Bible indicates she was born in Shubert NE - Her parents were Joseph and Maggie (Margaret or Margarite Bricker) Harper. I think herfather was also born in Richardson County in 1872 or 1873. Her grandparents were Joanna (Sally) Edwards and Avin Harper - Avin was born in TN - Joanna Sally or Sally Joanna was the daughter of Thomas Edwards and Rebecca Ashpaugh Edwards of Brownville, Nemaha county, NE. I know from Andrea's history of NE that Rebecca was the first white woman in Nemaha county and that Thomas was the first sherrif and also a minister. I have no information on the Harpers other that what I listed above. Iknow my grandmother had sisters and brothers named: Mace, Harold, Dolly, Everett, Annie and Mack, and also a couple more brothers that Ido not know the names of. Seeking info on Peter and Sarah HADLOCK, who lived in Falls City in the 1860's and 1880's. Peter b. abt 1803 NY to Sarah (Alexander?) b. abt 1804 Vt/Mass. The were married abt 1822 in or near Cayuga Co. NY, moved to Ashtabula Co. Ohio, then to Crawford Co. Pa. They came to Hardin Co. Iowa about 1852. Then into Richardson Co. Neb in the late 1860's. I am interested in finding more information on them and their children: 1)Amasa their eldest lived in Mercer Co. Illinois, as far as I know he didn't come to Neb. 2) Hiram married Hester Wiggens in Iowa and lived in Richardson Co for a few years, then moved to Kansas. 3) Louisa md Emmet Holding and had: Robert, Orville, and a daug. Emmet died and Louisa remarried to Elias Sowles. They lived in Richardson for a time, but also lived in Gage Co. Neb & Nemeha Co. Neb. Robert used the name Holden & lived in Custer Co. Neb. 4) Orville and his wife, Rebecca Keane lived in Wisconsin before the C. War. Orville went to Iowa and joined the army leaving his family. He went awol from the army and has not been positively located since that time. He used the name John Hadlock. 5) Miriam md Elmus Baker and moved to Stephenson Co. Ill. She later md Caleb Shreve and lived in Wisconsin. 6) Mary Jane married Samuel Mikesell. They had a daughter, Alice A. who lived with her grandparents. Mary Jane later married a Mr. Kenedy. I don't know what happened to Alice. 7) Frances married David Martin. They lived in Richardson Co. Neb and then went to Iowa. 8) Walter md Margaret Smith. They lived in Nemeha Co.
