The soil and climate seem admirably adapted to its growth arid the yield is enormous. The vine is healthy, grows vigorously, bears prolifically, is remarkably free from mildew and blight and never winter kills. Wine making will prove a good paying business in Nebraska. |

It is the opinion of the most successful peach growers of the West that keeping swine and fowls in the peach and other orchards tends to preserve them from the depredations of the curcuflo and codling moth. Mr. Johnson near Alton has practiced such pasturing with good returns of fruit in comparison to neighbors who did not and who received little or no fruit. |
