Kickapoos Indians Originally emigrated from Illinois and were located to the number of 290 on a reservation of 19,000 acres in North eastern Kansas. The greatest portion of the Kickapoos now in Mexico separated from the rest of the tribe about 20 years ago, and settled near the Wishita River, in what was the Indian territory, but afterwards became part of the State of Kansas.
