Labor Unions A number of the cotton mills in New England have determined to suspend operations for 30 days from April 1st, on account of resolutions of their work people to strike unless the hours of labor are reduced. Excerpt-- Thus the "lords of the loom" who are pampered by a radical protective tariff silence the voice of the laboring masses, when they ask for a reduction of the labor hours to ten hours a day.
