Nebraska Records
From NE Roots list -
I was informed by the Archivist in Plattsmouth, NE. about the census for Cass Co. 1876-1882 on microfilm. My family passed through there around this time; and because of her suggestion, I have been able to pinpoint their time in Plattsmouth. There is a census for each year contained in 9 rolls. I have been able to order these films from the Nebraska State Historical Society for a fee.
The microfilms are:
Roll 1
#19,808 1876 - Avoca Precinct thru 1876 - Plattsmouth city, page 115
Note: 8-Mile Pct. was filmed with the "M's" on this roll. It will be microfilmed with the "E's" on the following reels.Note: Retake, 1876 - Plattsmouth city, page 74 was missed in filming. Retake spliced at end of the reel.
Roll 2
#19,809 1876 - Plattsmouth City, page 116 thru 1877 - Elmwood Pct. pg. 43.
Roll 3
#19,810 1877 - Elmwood Pct. cont. pg. 44 thru 1877 - Tipton Pct.
Roll 4
#19,811 1877 - Weeping Water Pct. thru 1878 - Stove Creek Pct.
Roll 5

Roll 8

Roll 9

thru Undated material.
So, order the # you wish through interlibrary loan from the Nebraska State Historical Society, P. O. Box 82554, 1500 R Street, Lincoln, NE 68501. Hope this will help those researching in the Cass Co. area. It helped me, and I would not have known about it unless I visited the Cass County Historical Society in Plattsmouth, NE.
Sincerely, Linda
