The Nebraska Genealogical Society held its second annual meeting Friday, January 25, 1924, at the Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln, Nebraska. The reports of the various officers showed a gradual growth during the past year. The membership had increased twenty five percent, four life memberships had been given to the Society, and forty-nine books and pamphlets had been added to our library. The Treasurer reported $200 in the permanent fund and $259.14 in the checking fund. The election of officers resulted as follows:
President, Mrs. William Rogers, Lincoln, Nebr.
COATS-OF-ARMS. The Nebraska Genealogical Society has the coats-of-arms in colors of the following families: Plum, Wakelee, Hawley, Wheeler, Morgan, Schlather, Schwarz, Forster, Vogt, Hess, Hopkins, Waterman, Clarke, Almy, Easton, Coggeshall, Borden, Fenner, Tew, Peckham, Weeden, Greene, Ames, Bullock, Townsend, Richmond, Winthrop, Gorton, Harris, Sayles, Howland, Mullins, Inman, Steere, Rhodes, Williams, Olney, Angell, Winsor, Freeman, Edgar, Kouwenhoven, Stoutenborough, Crawford, Loveland. These are in two sizes: the small size sells for fifty cents; the large size, one dollar.
The Pioneer Press of San Francisco, California, has just published a very valuable pamphlet of thirteen pages, containing inscriptions taken from the cemetery of the Presbyterian Church at Westfield, New Jersey, and containing illustrations from the Rahway cemetery. These inscriptions were copied in 1899 by Mr. George W. Thomas, member of the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society. from old tombstones and cover a period from the year 1740 to the year 1899. The pamphlet presents a very pleasing appearance, the workmanship being of the best.
