JOSHUA4 BLODGETT (Samuel, 3 Jr., Samuel, 2 Thomas 1) , b. Feby. 26, 1694, in Woburn, Mass., m. Dinah Morse, dau. of John and Dinah (Knight) Morse of Watertown, Mass. He with his brothers, Daniel, Samuel and Josiah, removed to Stafford, Ct., in 1719. They were among the first proprietors of the town. Children of Joshua Blodgett and Dinah Morse were:

Tradition says Joshua left for England about 1734 in quest of some property there and was never heard from.

Joshua was a drummer in the Revolution [Soldiers and Sailors, vol. 2, p. 196]. Children of Joshua Blodgett and Hannah Alden were:

RICHARD1 WRIGHT, Plymouth, perhaps son of the first William; proprietor 1636; able to bear arms 1643; freeman June 5, 1644. He married 6 Nov. 1644 Hester2 Cooke (Francis,1 Mayflower), and had:
1. ADAM WRIGHTHis son John went into military service leaving a will probated 7 June 1676; his other sons Adam and Isaac and daughter Esther and the father were legatees. Richard died 1681, aged about 83 years; his wife Hester died between Dec. 28, 1668, and Jan. 3, 1669 (May. Des. 4-128.)
ADAM2 WRIGHT (Richard1) lived in that part of Plymouth which afterward became Plympton. He married (1) Sarah,3 daughter of John2 Soule (George,1 Mayflower); married (2) Mehitable Barrows. The date of Sarah Soule's marriage to Adam Wright, the date of her death, and the date of his marriage to

Mehitable Barrows are unknown. Sarah was living 16 March 1690-1 when she signed the deed printed herewith; but she probably died before 1699, since Mehitable's son Samuel who died 5 Jan. 1773 in his 74th year must have been born about 1699. Adam Wright died 20 Dec. 1724 in his 80th year [May. Des. 1-178 and 234.] According to May. Des. 2-242, his children were:

7. Samuel WrightThe children of Adam and Sarah (Soule) Wright had two Mayflower ancestors, Francis Cooke and George Soule; but the children of the 2nd wife Mehitable Barrows, daughter of George, had only one Mayflower ancestor so far as known.
ISAAC3 WRIGHT (Adam,2Richard1), son of Adam and Sarah (Soule) Wright, lived in that part of Plymouth which is now Carver; he married Dec. 19, 1717 [Ill. Soc. May. Des. 1-42], Mary, daughter of John and Susanna (Gray) Cole Mary (Cole) Wright died in Plymouth 20 July 1759 in her 63rd year; Isaac Wright made a will 2 July 1760 and died in Plympton 11 Jan. 1766 "ae. 80 years wanting 8 days" [G. S. R.]. The children of Isaac and Mary (Cole) Wright were:
1. Samuel Wright b. 1719JOSEPH4 WRIGHT (Isaac,3 Adam,2Richard1),was born in Plympton 16 June 1721 (May. Des. 5-202); he married 8 Nov. 1748 Sarah5 Brewster (Joshua,4 William,3 Love,2 William,1 Mayflower), daughter of Joshua and Deborah (Jackson) Brewster, born 11 Feb. 1727 in Duxbury. They removed to Plymouth.

He was a mason, and removed to Halifax and then to West Ponds, Plymouth, where he died in 1831. The children of Mary (Wright) and Sylvanus Sampson were:

Addie Journey m. 1st ------ Green, m. 2nd George Williams. ------ Journey m. ------ Cale. William Davis and ------ Green were killed by lightning abt. May 1, 1818, near Poseyville, Ind. William Davis and Ellen Journey Davis had two sons, son Joseph b. Nov. 9, 1816, m. Polly Endicott. They had eight children: Ellen m. R. L. Cushman, Martha m. 1st. ----- Snively, m. 2nd Richard Sands, John m. ----- Walker, Samuel m. ------ Rosborough, Joseph m. 1st ----- Cale, m. 2nd ------ Hindman, Molly, unmarried, Pressley m. name unknown. After the death of William Davis, Ellen Journey Davis m. James Downey. They had six children: James McGradey m. Mary A. Drysdale, Alexander Lowry, a Methodist minister, m. name unknown, Carrie m. George Reeves, George disappeared and was never heard from again, Isaac Newton m. Kate Griffin, and Permelia m. George Perry. These persons all lived in Posey County, Ind., prior to 1860.
