WM. H. COOKSEY.WILLIAM H. COOKSEY, one of the representatives from the thirty-seventh district, Fillmore county, is a Democrat, was born in Scott county, Illinois, October 18, 1847, and came from Iowa to this state in the year 1880. He is a merchant in the town of Burruss and has a family consisting of a wife, four boys, and four girls. Mr. Crooksey was mayor of Geneva for one term, served as postmaster for one term, and deputy postmaster for fifteen years. He has also held a number of minor offices, and in the 1886 founded the first Democratic paper in Fillmore county. |
ED COPPOC.ED COPPOC, Fusion representative from the fiftieth district, Holt county, was born July 6, 1867, in Iowa, and came to Nebraska from that state in the year 1884. He is a farmer, and his address is Chambers, Holt county; is unmarried and has held no office of importance before being elected to the twenty-seventh session of the Nebraska Legislature. He is a nephew of Edwin Coppoc who was executed with John Brown of Harper's Ferry fame. |
SAMUEL A. CORNEER.SAMUEL A. CORNEER, is a Republican from Douglas county, the tenth representative district. He was born in Denmark, November 7, 1860, and came from that country to America in the month of April, 1882, locating in Nebraska. Mr. Corneer is a widower with a family consisting of one boy and two girls. He is a brick manufacturer and resides in the city of Omaha, is just now having his first taste of public office. Physically he is the "big man" of the house of representatives, weighing nearly three hundred pounds. |
H. G. CRISSEY.H. G. CRISSEY, Republican member of the house of representatives from Johnson county, the fourth district, was born in the town of Aron, Fulton county, Illinois, December 26, 1861, locating in Nebraska in 1883. He was married February 25, 1891, at Julesburg, Colo., to Mary E. Sayles. They have two boys. Mr. Crissey now resides at Crab Orchard, where he is engaged in the lumber business. He was engaged in the cattle business in western Nebraska for six years and the general merchandise business in Johnson county four years. |
CHARLES CROCKETT.CHARLES CROCKETT, the twentieth representative district member, is from Knox county and belongs to the Peoples' Independent party. He was born in the state of Pennsylvania in the year 1841, coming from Iowa to this state in the year 1885. Mr. Crockett is a farmer and has a family consisting of a wife and seven children. He has been a member of the board of county commissioners two terms, sheriff for three terms, and is now serving for the second time as member of the house of representatives from the twentieth district. |
PETER DAHLSTEN.PETER DAHLSTEN, Populist representative in the lower house from the forty-ninth district, comprising the eight counties of Greeley, Wheeler, Garfield, Loup, Blaine, Thomas, Hooker, and Grant, was born in Clayton county, Iowa, December 4, 1862, and came from that county to Nebraska in the year 1876. He married Hannah McCart, and they have one boy and two girls. Mr. Dahlsten's present residence is Ericson, Wheeler county, where he is engaged as a hotel keeper and farmer. He was postmaster of Ericson for five years. |
