Looking for Christian HOUSEMAN (bca 1792/VA) m. Catherine RHOADS 13 Dec 1817/Highland Co. Children: Mary (bca 1826, m Joseph SIMBRO 13 Nov 1845/Highland Co), Phillip (bca 1829), Peter (bca 1832), Rachel (bca 1834, m Charles LOVE 25 Aug 1865/IA), Sophia Elizabeth (b 1836, m Horatio BARR 15 May 1864/IA), Joseph (bca 1836) and William (bca 1840, m Sarah E. FIFECOAT 14 Oct 1869/IA).

James PARKS lived in Sunfish Twp, Pike Co in 1880. Had previously been in Adams, Highland, and Licking Cos. Looking for the death/burial records of his wife Martha (dca 1880) and his son, William (dca 1906). They lived near Arkoe and operated a mill there.

Is Nathaniel GRAY (lived in Madison Twp, Highland Co) the husband of Catherine Smith? Are they the parents of Nancy, Amos, George, Rebecca, Lemuel, William and Catherine? Is Catherine the daughter of Robert Smith or Presley Smith, also living in Madison Twp, Highland Co? All of the above were listed in the 1820 census.

I am interested in information on Michael SHOEMAKER (14 Mar 1823/Highland Co-04 Jul 1895/Adams Co) m. Ruhama Cokonougher 07 Mar 1848/Adams Co. Need information on Michael's parents and siblings. Could his parents have been Simon and Elizabeth Knisley Shoemaker? If not, could his parents have been John W and Polly Stultz Shoemaker who m. 30 May 1824? It is very likely that Michael's grandparents were Samuel and Julia Ann Weaver Shoemaker. Need to bridge the generation gap. Will gladly exchange information.

Looking for information about James SAVAGE who lived in Union Twp, Highland Co 1830-1850. He died 1850-1860. According to the 1850 census, three of his children were Mary, Ellen and Simpson. Looking at earlier census there were others. Does anyone have any connection to this family?

I am researching Hartness T. VAN WINKLE who m. Sarah KING, and had children: Hannah Jeanette VAN WINKLE (b 23 Oct 1826), Elmira, Ellen Jane, Eliza Ann, Cynthia, John A, and Sarah. Another spouse of Hartness was Maria McMURTY. Children: Minerva, Maria, William and Lydia VAN WINKLE.

My great-grandfather was John Wesley ROGERS (b 1865/Hillsboro - d ca 1940-43), who m. Rosa ROADS (dau. of James Roads and Sarah MEDSKER). John Wesley's parents were: John Roland Rogers (08 Jan 1833-15 Dec 1871) who m. Cynthia A. SELPH (31 Jul 1835-28 Apr 1914). Cynthia SELPH was remarried to Danial Tharp after John Roland's death at age 38. John Wesley was listed under the Tharp residence in the 1880 census. Two of his siblings were: Joseph (04 Oct 1855-01 Dec 1885) and William A (1868-1899). Any connections?

John Wesley ROGERS and Rosa ROADS had 2 children: Ellen Rogers (b ca 1893-4), and James Dwight Rogers (b 1896-7), who is my grandfather and namesake. James Dwight ROGERS m. Charlotte STEPHAN (b 26 Apr 1900) adopted daughter of Julius Stephan and Mary (Wilhemina) JEGGI. Anyone out there have a connection?

Seeking information on Robert ROGERS who m. Nancy, either PHILLIPS or McFARLAND. They had a son, John Roland Rogers (08 Jan 1833-15 Dec 1871) who m. Cynthia A. SELPH (31 Jul 1835-28 Apr 1914). Would like to confirm Nancy's maiden name, and learn all I can about this line. Robert's father may have been Thomas Rogers. All clues helpful. Thanks.

Looking to exchange information with descendants of Samuel CAREY and Rachel DOANE. They were Quakers who moved to Highland Co from Grayson Co. VA by 1817. Also interested in surnames BRADFIELD and BURTON: Rachel BRADFIELD (granddaughter of Sam and Rachel CAREY) was disowned by the Quakers for marriage outside of unity. She m. 1826 to Samuel BURTON.

Am researching Leonard BENTZEL who came to OH from PA ca 1820. He was married to Nancy HALL. Children: Baltzer m. to Rebecca BLACKER, Sophia m. Nate THURMAN, Hannah m. Benjamin ESTLE (my main line of research. I have a lot of info on their children), Sarah m. Hiran SIKER, Cynthia m. James HAMILTON, Leonard Jr. m. Mary Ann AKER, John Milton m. Martha Melinda WISE. The name was BENTZEL when they came to OH. Sometime after this they started spelling it PENSYL. However Baltzer spelled it BENSYL. If anyone has any info on this line, would appreciate it. One of my ancestors was Mehatabel Leonard ROSS, who in her later years married a George CARR. He was from Pricetown. She died there July 30, 1886. Would you know anything about either of them?

ROBERTS, RUBLE: My ggrandmother's bible lists a marriage between a Louie/louise/louisa E. Roberts and William K. Ruble, at William's home, on Dec 27, 1888. Elder J.W. Ruble was pastor, Alfred Roberts and Frank S. Ruble were witnesses. Louie was born Apr 18, 1866 and William was born Jun 11, 1862. They had a daughter, Bessie Gladys Ruble, born Mar 24, 1891. I have been researching my ROBERTS lineage and am unable to identify this Louie or Alfred, much less any of the RUBLE names. If anyone knows about them please contact me.

Interested in informtion about William Wilson DOYLE (1823 - ?) and his ancestors. So far all we know is that his father was William DOYLE (1773 - ?) and his mother was probably Catherine (1803 - ?). He m. Sarah FLING (1835 - 1916) Dec 11, 1856 in Highland Co. She was the dau of Solomon FLING who was (1807 - ?) b. July 20 in Loudon Co., VA. and his wife Mary Ann BEVERIDGE (1813 - 1878). Have no further information about either the FLINGs or the DOYLEs.

Searching for Henry WORLEY m. Nancy Tansy 25 May 1802 Greene CO, TN, moved to NC 1803 where son Zimri WORLEY was born 23 Aug 1803, then to Highland CO, OH by 1805 where Elizabeth WORLEY born. I have not proven Elizabeth is Henry & Nancy daughter. Other children possibly Hiram & Eli and probably others.
