Seeking info on my gggrandparents Samuel M. CAMPBELL and Sarah Ann ROBERTS. They were the parents of Daniel H.(my ggrandfather), Amzar Benjamin, John, Philip, and Stephen. Samuel and Sarah both supposedly died in 1900 and are buried in Crispin Cemetery near Greenfield. I visited the cemetery last year and didn't find them. Where and when did they die? Also looking for any info on their children John, Philip, and Stephen.

Nimrod Pindle/Pindell m. Malinda Springer 03 May 1832/Highland Co. What happened to this couple? Did they move outside the county? Were there any children? Absolem Foreman m. Sarah Springer in Feb 1833/Highland Co. Children (b Ohio): John (1836), Michael (1837), George (1839), Nathan (1841), Elizabeth (1845) and Mahala (1848). By 1850 the family was in Pike Co IL. Would like spouses and death dates for these individuals. William H. Keys m. Mariah Springer 09 Dec 1841/Highland Co. Would like more details, spouses and death dates on their 14 children, including Ira L, Albert, Cynthia J, Frank H, Robert L, Oscar D, Sylvester M, Edwin W, and Charles F.

Charles DeHASS m. Elizabeth FLORENCE in 1848/Highland Co. I know of their 6 children. Would like death dates for children and their spouses. Can exchange earlier data on Elizabeth Florence's line.

Seek info on Hugh WEST (1787/VA-23 Dec 1867/Brushcreek Twp, Highland Co) m. 18 Jun 1813 to Susan NICHOLS (28 Feb 1795/VA-38 Mar 1869). They had a son Alfred WEST (19 Jul 1849-02 Apr 1851; m. Lucy [?]), who had son, Charles A. WEST (19 Jul 1849-30 Nov 1932) m. 15 Oct 1874 to Mary E. RINEY (11 Oct 1856-15 Sep 1921).

RUNYON - I am researching my family ancestors that migrated to Highland Co from Rockingham Co VA ca 1830. The descending order is: Daniel, Anderson D., John William, and then my father, John Samuel (b 22 Jan 1894, Lynchburg). I am especially interested in identifying the parents of Daniel, born circa 1780 in Brocks Gap, Rockingham Co VA, who m. Madeline Weatherholtz.

I am looking for information about West KEELER (1805-1893/bur IA) who m(1) Jane RILEY (3 sons); m(2) Rachel SHAFER. Moved to Iowa in 1882 and had son John Wesley Keeler. I'm looking for his parents, possibly from VA. His father might have been named James. Thanks.

I am researching my Ggrandmother's family: Julia Candace SNELL (m[1] John LEACH; twin daughters). She m(2) my Ggrandfather Winfield Scott COLE, a Baptist Minister. Her mother was Sarah St. Clair (b. CT) and I believe Sarah's father was Matthew St. Clair (the only St. Clair in the CT census). I don't know Sarah's mother's name. I have no knowledge of the twin daughters except that I believe they lived in MI because Julia was on a visit to them when she dies and was buried there. Winfield is buried in Santa Cruz CA beside his daughter, Elizabeth Nerginia (Cole) Inman. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for information on William HILL (d 1829/Hillsboro), who moved into Highland Co 1799 from KY. Built cabin on Clear creek north of present Hillsboro. William HILL married Sarah "Sally" Evens (dau of Hugh Evens). Need his birthdate and parents.

I am searching for any information on the second marriage of James HART (bca 1784/DE). His first wife, Mary, was dead by 1860. My GGGgrandmother, Susannah Moore Lowry, appears to have remarried after the death of her husband. I am speculating as to the first name of Susannah Moore Lowry's 2nd husband. A search of possible candidates in both Adams Co and Highland Co in 1860 census (after which Susannah's surname changes from Lowry to Hart) leads to only one possible man of a correct age: James Hart. The will of James Hart, listing Susannah as widow in 1863, makes me think there is strong evidence that this indeed was Susannah's second husband. Can anyone help me with information on this marriage, which took place between 15-16 Jun 1860 and James Hart's death, 13 Jan 1863.

I am looking for others researching the MARQUIS family in Highland Co as well as any information on this family. John MARQUIS (b 18 Oct 1803/PA; son of Issac MARQUISS and Eliza STURGIS [?]) m. Sarah McCULLY (b. 3 Feb 1798/PA) on 11 Nov 1824/Highland Co. They appear to have resided in Jackson Twp with children: William W (b 30 May 1825), Andrew Jackson (b 26 Dec 1829), John Harvey (b 24 Jan 1831), Samuel Newton (b 10 Apr 1833), Rachel Ann (b 1836), Sarah Leah (b Dec 1837), and Mary E (b 1843). Related Highland Co surnames might include: Lucy B. PACE (m William W. MARQUIS 30 October 1847/OH). The family moved on to Liberty Twp, Clarke County, IA (ca 1854) where John and Sarah and five of the seven children lived out their lives. Sarah Leah married my GGGgrandfather, Thomas J. John Samson Pitzer), James Matthew, Harriet Elizabeth (m Lyman Peters/where?), Rachel (m Hiram Conwell), George W, Robert A, Nancy Melana (m Richard Bailey), Miles Futhia (m Samantha Daugherty), John A (m1 Alice Whitely, m2Mary Chester); three died young: William Martin, Sarahann and Isaac. Was James the son of George McDaniel who came to Highland Co ca 1801 from NC?
