LIFE BEGINS AT FORTY AND EIGHT
Forty Hommes--Eight Chevaus--Forty Men--Eight Horses--squeezed into French box cars. The men objected to such transportation but after they were packed in camions, they longed for the "comforts" of old Forty and Eight.
 
AT DUSK THE INFANTRY MOVES UP
American infantry walking up the railroad track on its way to the front in France. There was many a bleak stretch of devastated country surrounding these men who traveled thousands of miles to defend America's honor and ideals.
