THE ANSWER TO BIG BERTHA
Five 14-inch naval guns, constructed by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and under command of Rear-Admiral C. P. Plunkett, U. S. N., were in action in France. They were used to silence "Big Bertha," the German super-gun and to destroy railroad yards at Laon, Montmedy and Conflans.
