I attended the Lincoln School from 1953 until 1961. It closed in 1963 and all neighborhood children were then bussed to Loyal Public Schools. Some of the parents were unhappy to lose the neighborhood school because so many social activities centered around school events. Many of the children attending during those years had parents who had also attended the school. Some of the names were Teatz, Schmidt, Gunia, Schecklman, Radue, Saibold, Garbisch, Schnabel, Benedict, Aga, Luchterhand and Jacobi. Florence Bertz and Gwen Pigott taught there and both went on to teach in Loyal schools.
