In 1887, a new school house was built 7 miles south of Loyal on the intersection of K. and H. It was initially dubbed, "The Palmer School", and later renamed "The Lincoln School."
The first teacher was Ella Livingston and her students were: Margaret Dum, Stachia Dum, Florence McCaliary, Belle Benedict, Olive Rogers, Hattie Warner, Allie Turner, Mamie Rondorf, Pearl Palmer, Grace Palmer, Mary White, Frank White, Albert Dum, Archie Garvin, Bertha Gardner, Lou Stevens, Cynthia Adams, Elia Turner, Anne Dum, Eunice White, Lelia Palmer, Lilly Warner, Frank Rogers, Dave White, Willie Benedict, Wallie Youngs, Lee Palmer, Warren Turner, Ray Livingston, Krohn, Shirley Warner, Morrice Garner, James Dum, Willie Livingston, Art Gardner, Willie Rogers, and Willie White.
