Greenwood Gleaner - Thurs., February 5, 1942

These 33 men plus the three transfers will report to the Local Board Office at Loyal, Wisc., at 6:30 A.M. on February 6th. A special bus will pick up these men and will take them to Fort Sheridan, Ill, where they will be inducted into the U.S.Army.

*The surname should be spelled Polzin, believe it was a typo in the original write up.

SGT Harold B. Polzin was killed in active, was a plane tail gunner.

Family Sources say:

His boby was sent back at the time of his brother, Duke's (Bernhardt E. Polzin, Sr.) death for a joint burial. These two brothers are buried side by side in the Neillsville Cemetery.

A story has been told that Duke had a heart attack while waiting for Harold's body to return. Duke Polzin died in 1948.
