Ayer, Esther Sophia (13 April 1895 - 20 Jan. 1990)

Esther Sophia Ayer, 94, Unity, died Saturday, Jan 20, 1990 at 11:20 a.m. at St. Josephs Hospital, Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 23, 1990 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. Rev. Dennis Olson officated. Burial was in Town of Beaver Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Grandsons, Emery Rahm, Gale Hanson, Warren, Robert, Douglas and Bradley Ayer.

Esther (Wittlinger) Ayer was born April 13, 1895, in Dale, Wis. to Charles and Alma (Pipkorn) Wittlinger. She received her education in the town of Beaver. She married Walter Ayer on October 7, 1913, in the Town of Beaver. He died May 19, 1969. They lived and farmed in the Town of Unity for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and it's Ladies Aid and the Unity Senior Citizens Club.

Survivors include three daughers, Mrs. David (Lenore) Vanderhoof, Marshfield; Mrs. Lucille Rahm, Spencer; Mrs. Owen (Elaine) Hanson, Fairfield, Ca.; one son, Melvin Ayer, Unity; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Becker, Owen; 12 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were one son, Verland, two brothers, five sisters and one grandson. Rux Funeral Homes was in charge of the arrangements.
