Bacon, Mrs. Christian H. (28 FEB 1850 - 14 JAN 1932)
Mrs. Christian H. Bacon (AKA: Mary Munson Bakken) passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leonard Mohr, January 14th. She had reached the age of 81 years and 10 months. Death was caused by the infirmities of old age.
Mrs. (Mary) Bacon was born February 23, 1850 in Ringsager, (Hedmark) Norway, and came to America with her parents at the age of two years. The family settled in the town of Akan, Richland Co., Wis. She was united in marriage to Christian Bacon in the year of 1873, and to this union were born eleven children, three of whom preceded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Bacon moved to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) in the year of 1912, and settled on a farm south of Owen, and have since made Owen their home.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her aged husband, and eight children: Mrs. Ed Olstead of Beloit, Mrs. Alpha Beyers of Everett, Washington, Mrs. Pearl Church of Maple Valley, Washington, Mr. Albert Bacon of Eau Claire, Mrs. C. L. Mathewson, Mrs. Leonard Mohr, Christian and Cornelius Bacon, of Owen, Wis. Twenty-eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
The remains were taken to Five Points, Richland County, where funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church, at two o’clock Saturday afternoon. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
