Gronek, Stanley (7 APR 1853 - 22 DEC 1936)
Funeral services for Stanley Gronek, 83-year-old farmer, residing near Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), were held at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Saturday morning, Dec. 26, at 10 a.m. Rev. Father Francis Kirlig officiated. Burial was made in the Posen Cemetery. Mr. Gronek passed away at the home of his son, Stanley Jr., death was the result of a paralytic stroke, Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1936.
Stanley Gronek was born April 7, 1853, in Poland. On Sept. 1, 1874, he was united in marriage to Marie Patchak and in 1888 arrived in America and made their home at Philadelphia for 12 years. In 1900 they moved to a farm in Unity Township near Thorp, where they have since made their home. He is survived by his wife, Marie; one brother, Albert, living in Poland; a son, Stanley, Jr., and four daughters, Frances Paczkowski, Withee; Minnie Gronek, Rose Ciszewski, and Mary Adamczyk.
Those from out-of-town who attended the funeral were: Miss Minnie Gronek, Mrs. Rose Ciszokski, Mrs. Mary Adamczyk, Thomas Gronek, Tony Ciszewski and daughter, Dolly, all of Chicago.
