Mortimer, Frank (11 MAY 1881 - 9 MAY 1937)
Frank Mortimer died suddenly of heart disease at hi home in the town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.) on Sunday, May 9, 1937. He was born at Valton, Wis., May 11, 1881, (the son of James, 1833-1896 & Malinda Holderman) and had reached the age of fifty-six years. On June 24, 1905 he was united in marriage to (Lora) Maud Schaffer at Baraboo, Wis. He resided on a farm near Valton until 1907, when he removed to his present farm in the town of Reseburg.

*His widowed mother, Malinda (b. Aug 1849) lived with Frank's sister, Tillie and her husband, Albert E. Jackson and their children in Woodland, Sauk, WI. Malinda was born in Indiana, the daughter of Eli & Marget Slater Holderman and died 25 Feb 1925 from a Gallbladder infection. She was buried along with many family members in the Valton Cemetery, Valton, WI.

He leaves to mourn, his wife and one son, Avard, of Madison, three brothers, George of Tieton, Wash., James and Glen of Valton, Wis., also five sisters, Mrs. Maggie Wheeler of Hillsboro, Wis., Mrs. Jessie Thew, Mrs. Alice Mackinzie, Mrs. Albert Jockson, all of Wonewoc, Wis., and Mrs. J. Leatherberry of Lodi, Wis.
Funeral services were held at the Bogumill Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 12th, the Rev. Powell of Phelps officiating, interment following the services at Lake Delton, Wis., where short services were also held at the grave.

James Mortimer, a pioneer resident of our town, died last week and was buried
Friday. He leaves a wife, a large family of children and many relatives to morn
his loss. The funeral was held at Valton, Rev. Smeltzer officating.
