Misener, Van R. (29 Apr. 1879 - 5 Aug. 1946)

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wisconsin for Van R. Misener of Unity, Wisconsin, age 67, who died at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where he had been a patient since May 6. Rev. J. A. Olson, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran church at Unity, officiated and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mr. Misener was born at Macomb, Ill., on April 29, 1879, and moved to Unity in 1898. Two years later, he established a barber shop there. He was married to Ida E. Liepert in the Lutheran church at Unity on Jan. 4, 1907, and the family lived there until 1924 when they moved to Decatur, Mich. In 1927 they returned to Unity where Mrs. Misener died on July 8, 1941. Mr. Misener retired in 1944 because of poor health.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter - Ray of Walworth, Warren of Chicago, Glenn of Unity and Mrs. Forrest (Genevieve) Johnson of Unity. There are also seven grand children. One son, Lester, preceded his father in death.
