I am writing concerning your history of the Clark County Civil War History 21st Wisconsin Infantry.

My great-great grandfather was a architect who came from France and settled in the Clark County area. His last name was Ley(Lay) and I have no idea of his first name. My great grandfather's name was John Ley and he was born in Holy Cross, Wisconsin in 1864. His obituary states that his father died in 1866 as a result of Civil War wounds.

I am wondering if the John Lay (Ley) that you list in your Civil War history is my great-great grandfather? Do you have any more information or photos of the 21st Infantry regiment? I would be exceedingly grateful for any information you may be able to provide. I have listed the page that has John Lay(Ley) referenced.
