Langjahr, Lois Ann (Marriage - 1 June 1957)
Miss Lois Ann Langjahr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arvin T. Langjahr of Unity, and Vernon Spangler, son of Mrs. Bessie Spangler of Loyal, Wis., exchanged marriage vows in the Trinity Lutheran church at Unity, Wisconsin Saturday afternoon, Rev. Miss Rita Spangler of Loyal, the groom’s sister, served as maid of honor and wore a frock of blue net and taffeta. A matching bolero covered the strapless top. Identical dresses were worn by the bridesmaids, Mrs. Irene Edblom of Unity and Mrs. Doris Drexler of Marshfield, sisters of the bride. Their bouquets consisted of pink roses and white carnations. Their husbands, Alvin Edblom and Joseph Drexler, served as groomsmen while the bride’s brother, Ellis Langjahr, was best man.
The bride was attired in a "V" neckline gown of Chantilly lace over satin, buttons down the back, with long sleeves that came to points over the wrists. Her finger tip veil was held in place by a crown of rhinestones and pearls. Her bouquet consisted of red roses and lilies of the valley. She was preceded to the wedding march by her nieces, Cheryl and Deborah Edblom, in flower girl dresses of net over taffeta, and her young brother, Donald Langjahr, as ring bearer.
Neal Langjahr of Unity and James Spangler of Loyal, brothers of the bride and groom, served as ushers.
Mrs. Langjahr wore a navy blue dress accented with white and the groom’s mother was dressed in light blue with white accessories. Their corsages consisted of white carnations and pink roses.
A reception and supper were held at the home of the bride. Out of town guests were from Wisconsin Rapids, Milwaukee, Marshfield, Loyal, Arpin, Auburndale and Colby, Wis.
The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and her husband attended Loyal High School. After a trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota, they will make their home on the groom’s farm at Loyal.
