Winkler, Norman (20 Mar. 1917 - 23 Dec. 1959)
Norman E. Winkler of Unity, Wisconsin died of a heart attack last week Wednesday night. He was a lifelong resident of the Unity community, 42 years of age and had lived on a farm east of Unity the past 11 years. Winkler suffered the heart attack after alighting from his car in Unity, Wis. Two Boy Scouts, members of the Cook family, tried unsuccessfully to revive him with artificial respiration. A physician pronounced him dead. Funeral services were held in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Unity, Wisconsin Sunday afternoon, Rev. R. Langseth officiating, and internment was made in the church cemetery. Pall bearers were Leonard Reise, Charles Reise, Elmer Miessner, Arthur Schwantes, Donald Weis, and Donald Korntved.
Mr. Winkler suffered the heart attack while trying to release his car which stalled in the snow in the village of Unity, Wis.
Mr. Winkler was born in Unity on March 20, 1917, and received his education in the Unity schools. He married Dorothy Schultz on September 25th, 1940.
Surviving are his wife; five children, Robert, Dennis, Patricia, David and James, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Milton (Emily) Wolfe of Loyal and Mrs. George (Evelyn) Jeske of Hamburg; two brothers, John of Waterford and Edward of Tomahawk.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Winkler of Tomahawk, Mr. and Mrs. John Winkler of Waterford, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wolf and family of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. George Jeske and sons of Hamburg, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schultz and family of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Sossaman and children of Muskego, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mulkins of St. Martins, Walter Schultz of Elkhorn, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Punty of Bear Creek, Mrs. Ruth Schernick of Clintonville, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Safemaster of Waterford, Mrs. Milton Koch of Westboro, Mr. and Mrs. George Speich of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Bruesewitz, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
