YOUNG MAN DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
After being a sufferer from Bright's Disease since last December,
Fred Woodke (Woodkey) Jr. passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 1921 at the Carpenter
Hospital at Topenish, where he was taken a few weeks ago in the
hope that he might be cured. He had been in different hospitals and
under the care of several physicians but medical aid was of no
avail, although everything possible was done to bring about his
recovery.
Fred Woodke Jr. was born in Greenwood, Clark County, Wis. Jan. 14,
1897. When he was five years old his mother died. In 1904, in
company with his father he came to Kalispell, where they resided
until 1914, when they came to this valley and since made their home
on a ranch east of Hot
Springs, Montana.. His death brings sadness to his large number of friends
and deepest sympathy is felt for his father, who with his loss is
left alone.
Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 Rev. Geo. McVey Fisher conducted burial
services in the Presbyterian Church and the body was laid to rest
in the Ventling Cemetery. Rev. Fisher delivered a very comforting
service and Mrs. Flower and Mrs. Keller rendered two beautiful and
appropriate hymns. The deepest sympathy is felt for the father who
devoted years of his life to the rearing of his boy who was left
motherless. (Sanders County Montana Signal)
