OBITUARY OF FREDERICK W. ZELL
Frederick William Zell was born in Damnitz, Germany, Sept 26, 1861. In the year 1880 he was united in marriage with Louise Bussian. Some yeas later they came to this country. Three children were born to this union.
On Dec. 29, 1917, his wife preceded him in death. Mr. Zell passed away at 6:00 o'clock a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 1932, the cause of his death being cancer of the stomach. He had reached the age of 70 years, 10 months and 23 days.
Those who remain to mourn his death are two sons and one daughter, Ferdinand at Swan River, Canada William and Elizabeth (Mrs. Otto Wehrman) of the Town of Warner. He also leaves 18 grandchildren and a host of friends.
For many years Mr. Zell owned and operated a farm 3 miles west of Greenwood, Clark County, and was well known throughout this vicinity.
Funeral services were held from the West Side Immanuel Church Monday afternoon, Rev. P. Franzmeier officiating. The body was laid to rest in the West Side Cemetery.

I have some corrections/additions for you on this post for William Frederick Zell.
#1. Louisa Zell was his first wife [Obit]
#2. Helen Cleveland Zell, (first marriage to Alfred Gemmeke) was Frederick's second wife [Obit]
so the Gemmeke daughter, Margaret, in this new post is his step-daughter. Lani Bartelt
#3. The Family History #133 seems to be in error. Not sure who supplied the info. I believe it is for the Wm Zell family.
Fathers Name: information is correct.
Mothers Name: is not. William was married to Helen Cleveland Gemmeke Zell.
Children: is correct.
Your corrections/additions are misleading if we are to assume the Family
History #133 is for Willian & Helen.
1. Louisa Bussian was the only wife of Frederick Zell. I have searched the E
& R Church records to verify this. I am not sure what are her origins. I
can't find parents any where in US searches, but Fred's obit indicates they
came from Germany, so that would assume her parents never came to the US. I
do have some info from Sheboygan Co & E & R Church records that might
indicate she was a sister/half sister to Mary Wolhaupt Wehrmann, or adopted
by Johann/Christine Wolhaupt, Mary's parents. I have more confusion to add
to Louisa, there are records indicating she also went by the name Hannah
Louisa.
2. Helen Cleveland Gemmeke Zell was married to William, not Frederick.
Ardella is the mother of Helen, see the obit for Ardella Cleveland on the
website.
I hope this helps clarify my concerns about the post of the Family History
#133. Betty Comstock
