Clark Co., Wisconsin Edward Mitchell was
born June 19, 1839, the son of Edward and Charity Mitchell of New York. He married Ellen who was born in 1832. In 1879,
Edward began working for the B & M Railroad as a station agent in Scranton, east
of Hatfield. He was a hardworking, knowledgeable citizen who was respected
for his good qualities.
Ellen died
September 28, 1887 at the age of fifty-five and Edward died September 9, 1897.
Both of them are buried in the
Greenwood City Cemetery.

Edward may have fought with Co. B of the 47th Wisconsin Infantry during the Civil
