Mayenschein, Curtis J. (1911 - 1983)
Curtis Mayenschein, 72, Thorp, Clark County, died Saturday evening,
May 28, 1983, at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 1983, at the
Thorp Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Mertens officiated and burial
was in the Butlerville Cemetery, Route 3, Thorp. Pallbearers were
all Grandsons, Jim, John, Joe, Mark and Paul Mayenschein, and
Richard Hempleman.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1911, in Hillsboro, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
William (Blanche) Mayenschein. He married Laura Butler on Aug. 25,
1937, in Thorp. They celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary last
August.
He farmed most of his life in Thorp and was a Town of Butler
supervisor for 43 years.
Survivors include his wife three sons, Leland of Greenfield, Norm
of Greenwood and Dave of Torp three daughters, Marlys
Andruszkiewicz of Thorp and Mary Lynn Grajkowski of Thorp, and
Carol Bottlemy of Owen five sisters, Esther Bizjak and LaVern
Reineke, both of Thorp, Lydia Pope and Doris Vechiola, both of
Chicago, and Lodean Culp of Algoma 22 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
