Bartholomay, Louis (11 MAR 1871 – 29 JUL 1967)
Funeral services for Louis Bartholomay, a resident of the Withee (Clark Co.,
Wis.) community for 65 years, were conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral
Home. Rev. Arvid Myhrwold, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood,
officiated, and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Bartholomay passed away Saturday, July 29, 1967 at Memorial Hospital at
Neillsville.
At the final rites Emil Hansen, Lawrence Netzer, Donald Poppe, Leon and Norbert
Bruchert, and Clarence Strohkirch served as pallbearers.
Mr. Bartholomay was born March 11, 1871 at Davenport, Iowa, and received his
education there. His marriage to Jennie Groves, who preceded him in death, took
place May 25, 1894, at Waukesha.
In 1902 they came to Withee and Mr. Bartholomay worked for many years as a stone
mason, and then for the Clark County Highway Department until his retirement.
Survivors are two sons, Edward and Walter, Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Ted
(Helen) Hendricks, Withee, with whom he had made his home for many years; Mrs.
Hans (Mabel) Peterson, and Mrs. Leo (Florence) Paczocha, both of Milwaukee;
seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Louis was the son of Henry & Minnie (Fogal / Vogal) Bartholomay.
