On the occasion of celebrating one hundred years of ministry in the name of Christ, it is only natural that we should look back with thanksgiving for the ways in which God has blessed many people through Our Savior's Lutheran Congregation. It was in this congregation that I was Baptized, worshiped, attended Sunday School and Luther League. I thank God for former pastors and members who were instrumental in nurturing me in the covenant that Christ made with me in Baptism.

More important, than looking back at this centennial celebration is that we look ahead. What is past is done and cannot be changed whether it was good or bad. But what we are now, and what we can become in Christ can be changed if we but let the Holy Spirit work freely within each one of us.

It was Jesus who said, "You did not choose me., but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide; so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. This I command you, to love one another."  (John 15:16-17)

Cray each of you, members and friends of this congregation, be filled with the love of Christ. May others know you are Christ's disciples by the love you continue to show for one another.

The Spirit's power to you for an even greater second one hundred years.
