At present, we have three choirs - - the adult choir; a junior choir, composed of children from grades 4-6 under the direction of Mrs. Fox with Dawn Ystad pianist, and they wear red gowns with white collars; a cherub choir composed of children from Kindergarten through grade 3 with Mrs. Duane Olson director and Berdelle Neilsen, pianist. They wear white gowns with red bows. We have a new electric organ and a new piano in the church with the older pianos in the basement.

Mrs. Tanner had organized a group of twelve ladies in a Altar Guild which is still active. Each member serves two years one member retiring each year. They take pride in caring for the Communion service trays, the candles, altar linens, and providing baptismal napkins.

The men of the congregation have organized a Dart Ball team, They meet teams from other churches in the area once a week during the winter. A banquet in one of the churches winds up the year. it is highlighted by the presentation of trophies to the winners.

At this time, our church has two sons who are ordained pastors - - namely, Norbert Jolivette and Harold Verhuist. We also claim Floyd Olson as a son. He was baptized and confirmed in United Lutheran congregation but later transferred to Trinity in Loyal where he was ordained.

It is interesting to note that Norbert and Floyd are great grandsons and Harold a great great grandson of Elias Peterson, who was one of the charter members in 1872. Norbert is also a grandson and Harold a great grandson of Simon Johnson, also a charter member just 100 years ago tomorrow. . Floyd is also a great nephew of Simon Johnson, Another member of our church, Herbert Schwarze, Sr., is now Director of American Lutheran Church Foundation. He has a son, Jack, who was baptized in United Lutheran, and is now an ordained minister. And last, but not least, our lay family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ramin are serving their second term in New Guinea.

Many of our boys have served in the military service or Peace Corp. The Trondhjem Service Roll had a Gold Star, that of Warren Oswald, whose wife was the former Lucille Olson, Warren lost his life serving in the Aleutian Islands area in World War I 1. Memorial services for Cedric Boe were held in Our Saviors Church. He was lost at sea in the Pacific while serving in the present war. His father and grandparents were early members of United Lutheran.

Now, what would a church do without a Ladies Aid? Long before "Women's Lib" was ever heard of, the women carried the greater load of supporting the church with sales and suppers, Mission work, and untiring efforts, to say nothing of their devotion and prayers. Records do not tell us of regular meetings of the women before the first group divided. However, memories as recorded by Cora Johnson Vaugsness tell us that late in the winter of 1901, before the Trondhjem congregation was organized, a group of ladies met at the home of Mrs. Ole Bragstad and organized what came to be known as Trondhjem Ladies Aid. Among the charter members were: Mrs. Gustafson, Mrs. Christopherson, Mrs. Chris Englebretson, Mrs. Andrew Olsen, Mrs. Morton Johnson, Mrs. Kolstad, Mrs. Bragstad, Mrs. Simon Johnson, Mrs. Maria Hendrickson, Mrs. lver Hembre, Mrs. Hans Ystad, and Mrs. Ed Englebretson. Mrs. Simon Johnson was its first president.

Records tell us that on January 8, 1907, a group of ladies met at the home of Mrs. John Heggestad and organized what came to be known as the "Good Hope Society". its charter members were: Mrs. Morris Anderson, Mrs. Otto Anderson, Mrs. Auton Bredesen, Miss Dagny Bredesen, Miss Emma Bredesen, Mrs. Selmer Engen, Mrs. John Heggestad, Mrs. Andrew Johnson, Miss Annie Johnson, Mrs. Hank Johnson, Mrs. Ole Johnson, Mrs. Karl Kjellesvig, Mrs. Ole Moberg, Mrs. Theodore Oscar, Mrs. Atle Svanoe and Mrs. George Swetland. Mrs. Svanoe was its first president. Her husband was pastor at that time. Of this group, Miss Annie Johnson, now Mrs. Voilrath, is the only living member. Her first husband was Peter Dahlby. Both of these groups continued to function until after the new church was built, when they merged to form one group. Reverend and Mrs. Aaberg were very enthusiastic workers for missions. It was they who encouraged the two aids to join the Women's Missionary Federation of which Mrs. Aaberg was president at one time.
